Spicy BBQ Sauce
Ingredients
1-2 cans of peeled whole tomatoes 28 oz (Add more tomatoes for a milder salsa)
1 can of chipotle in adobo sauce 7 oz (In my experience these vary wildly in quality by brand. I use the Kroger brand)
Now this part of the recipie is up to you... (because I just add spices until it tastes good to me)
The main thing you need is probably Brown Sugar, Allspice, Vinegar, And Salt.
Next time I make it I will try and measure my spices.
Spices (to taste)
Allspice (This gives it a Jamaican jerk flavor)
Cinnamon (This taste really great in this sauce)
Garlic Powder
Vinegar (I use whatever vinegar I have on hand)
Brown Sugar
Vegetable Oil
Butter (melted and blended in)
Salt
Instructions
Drain the tomatoes, cut them up a bit, and wash to remove all tomato juice.
Blend the tomatoes and chipotle in a blender until smooth.
This will give you a spicy tacaria style salsa that is servered with you meal.
If you want to make it chunky, remove half the tomatoes, blend the remaining tomatoes with the chipotle and add your diced tomatoes back in
Add your spices in a bit at a time and taste. You dont want to overdo any of them.
